So you’re interested in being one of my caregivers? Cool! Thanks! Here’s some more about the job.

SOME BACKGROUND INFO

My team of awesome caregivers is funded through Pennsylvania Medicaid’s Independent Care Waiver Program. Under this program, individuals with disabilities are tasked with finding, hiring, and maintaining their own care staff.

The Independent Care Waiver Program does not require care staff to have any prior work experience. You do not need to have any formal training but the program does mandate that employees are 18 or older, pass a background check, and be eligible to work in the United States.

All employees are W-2 workers and you will be paid every two weeks on a set payment schedule through direct deposit or check by mail. Unfortunately, the state sets the pay rate based on our county. We can discuss this more if you have any questions. I know it’s a little confusing… for me, too.
